Keep the original page as your reference
When you copy a passage into a separate translator, you have to reconnect the result to the original page. Snap Translate instead replaces selected page text in place or positions translated image text over the selected region, aiming to retain the page’s formatting.
Translate a passage, not just isolated words
The AI workflow sends selected text segments together in a translation request. This gives the model nearby wording to help interpret meaning, tone and phrasing. It is not an automatic full-page understanding layer: context is limited to the content sent in that request.
AI can still make mistakes. Model choice, incomplete selections, ambiguous language, translation length and page structure all affect the result.

Basic or Pro translation
Chinese is available in the language selector. For webpage text, use MyMemory in Basic or your configured AI provider in Pro, with English as the target language.

Pro AI vision
Basic local OCR currently bundles English and Vietnamese models, not Chinese. Chinese image text therefore requires the AI image workflow and an appropriate provider/model.

Basic / MyMemory
No AI API key is required. The default daily character counter is 10,000, stored in the browser. Cached translations do not consume that counter again. Provider limits still apply. Local OCR does not make translation offline.
Pro / your AI provider
Select OpenAI or Gemini and configure your own API key and model. Provider charges, quotas and model capabilities apply to your account. The Basic daily counter does not apply to AI requests.

Page compatibility
Chrome internal pages and other browser-restricted locations cannot be translated. Dynamic layouts, embedded frames or unusual content structures may affect selection and placement.
Recognition & layout
Low-resolution images, stylized text and complex layouts can reduce OCR quality. Translation length may alter spacing. No exact layout or recognition guarantee is made.
Provider availability
Network failures, invalid keys, safety blocks, quotas and provider changes can interrupt translation. Review important details against the original, especially specifications or instructions.

Free, Pro and Business on the pricing page describe proposed commercial packaging. Basic and AI workflows are present in the private build; subscription access and team administration are not yet implemented.
